About Us
The story of "Bunna," or coffee as it is known in Ethiopia, is rich and steeped in legend. Coffee's origins can be traced back to the ancient coffee forests of Ethiopia, particularly in the Kaffa region.
According to popular legend, a 9th-century goat herder named Kaldi noticed his goats becoming unusually energetic after eating red berries from a certain shrub. Kaldi tried the berries himself and experienced a similar burst of energy. He shared this discovery with a local monastery, where monks used the berries to create a drink that helped them stay awake during prayer. The invigorating beverage gained popularity and began its journey to becoming a global phenomenon.
